Join Us for the 12th Annual Little Cities Tour de Forest Benefit Bicycle Ride on Saturday morning, April 29, 2017 beginning and ending at Hocking College Student Center in Nelsonville. Various routes take riders through the forested hills of southeastern Ohio on both level and challenging courses. A gravel route was added last year and was well received and will be available again this year! Included in registration is a Tour de Forest T-Shirt and a “start your ride” Homemade Granola Bar from Fullbrook’s Cafe on Nelsonville’s Historic Public Square. A hearty complimentary lunch will be served upon return at the Student Center between 11:30am and 3pm. This is a non-competitive ride that raises funds for the Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council which is committed to gathering, protecting and sharing the heritage, cultural and environmental assets of this boom-to-bust coal mining region that is now home to the Wayne National Forest, and the Little Cities of the Forest Collaborative which promotes environmental restoration, education and recreation in the same region.
Once again group registration which provides a reduced registration rate and social perks! Even more exciting with this year’s move to Hocking College, is rider access to the Student Recreation Center’s facilities, including pool, climbing wall and disc golf. So build in some extra time for you and your family to utilize this opportunity.
Registration for this year’s ride is $30 for adults and $20 for youth (6-17 years). Registration for groups/teams of 5 or more riders will be $25/rider and $15/rider for youth. Riders can choose from three roadway routes of various distances, a 75 mile century route, 54 mile gravel route, 30 mile mining town route, and a family friendly and safe “set your own distance” ride on the Adena Hock-Hocking Bikeway which runs in front of the Student Rec Center.
Non-rider rec passes are available for $10 for those who wish to attend the event but choose not ride. Rec passes include the complimentary lunch and access to the Hocking College Rec Center and use of the climbing wall, pool, indoor track, and disc golf course. They do not include a t-shirt or morning granola bars.
Departure times begin at 7am and run until 10am. Departure times are the choice of the rider and should be calculated to insure return in time for lunch between 11:30AM and 3pm. Though not required, we prefer that riders leave on the hour, so that partnering is possible.
Register online here! A signed Registration/Waiver Form is required: Please note that helmets are required on this ride.
