Join Us for the 14th Annual Little Cities Tour de Forest Benefit Bicycle Ride on Saturday morning, May 4, 2019 beginning and ending at Hocking College Student Center in Nelsonville.  Various routes take riders through the forested hills of southeastern Ohio on both level and challenging courses.  In its third year, our challenging gravel route has been well received! Included in registration is a Tour de Forest Souvenir of your choice and a “start your ride” Homemade Granola Bar from Fullbrook’s Cafe on Nelsonville’s Historic Public Square.   A hearty complimentary lunch will be served upon return at the Student Center between 11:30am and 3pm.  This is a non-competitive ride that raises funds for the Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council which is committed to gathering, protecting and sharing the heritage, cultural and environmental assets of this boom-to-bust coal-mining region that is now home to the Wayne National Forest.  PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UNSUPPORTED RIDE.  SNACKS/WATER are available at stops in New Straitsville and Shawnee.  We do provide a cell phone # for emergency call backs.

We offer a group registration which provides a reduced registration rate for groups over 5 riders!  Again this year riders have access to the Student Recreation Center’s facilities, including showers, pool, climbing wall and disc golf.

Registration for this year’s ride is $30 for adults and $20 for youth (6-17 years).  Registration for groups/teams of 5 or more riders will be $25/rider and $15/rider for youth. Riders can choose from three paved routes of various distances (a 75 mile “metric century” route, a 30 mile “mining town” route, a 54 mile gravel route and a family-friendly, level and super safe “set your own distance” ride on the Adena Hock-Hocking Bikeway, which runs in front of the Student Rec Center.

Non-rider rec passes are available for $10 for those who accompany the rider but choose not to ride. This includes the use of the climbing wall, indoor pool, indoor track, and disc golf course and lunch the day of the event.

Departure is recommended at 7am for Metric Century riders and between 8 and 10am for all others.  Departure times are the choice of the rider and should be calculated to ensure return in time for lunch between 11:30AM and 3:30pm.
